Blake Hopper, hailing from Jackson, TN, has been playing music professionally for eight years. He began his mastery of the banjo at age fourteen, moving on to other instruments soon after. Voted in high school "Most Talented" and "Class Clown", Blake quickly started his career as a banjo player/comedian, and frequently played with bluegrass bands. In 2000, he joined Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers, based in Louisville, KY. After 3 years, he then went on to play for a year with the bluegrass band 1946. Blake has played on the Grand Ole' Opry, has appeared on CMT and made numerous other television appearances, and has shared the stage with Brooks & Dunn, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, and many other country and bluegrass artists. Blake not only picks the banjo, he strums the guitar, bass, dobro, mandolin, and sings lead and harmony vocals. Blake enjoys entertaining folks and cherishes the opportunity to share his Christain faith with his audience. He and his wife Christy live in Seymour, TN. He serves as Tennessee Shindig band director. His latest release, "When There was Time" will be released in June. |
